Overview

SealStream LLC is an AI startup focused on security-oriented technology solutions. During my internship, I worked on developing the company's visual identity while also contributing to AI-related projects.

For the branding project, I explored logo concepts, typography, and color combinations to create a professional and recognizable identity. Working directly with my supervisor, I refined the designs through feedback and multiple iterations to establish a cohesive visual direction.

The Design Challenge

SealStream needed a recognizable visual identity that communicated security and professionalism while maintaining an approachable personality.

Goal

Create a distinctive logo combining a seal, shield, and flowing water imagery into a cohesive brand identity.

Project at a Glance

4 Initial logo concepts
3 Typography options
1 Selected direction

01 — Initial Exploration

I developed four logo concepts, ranging from expressive illustrations to structured shield-based emblems. I also compared Sora, Futura, and Helvetica to explore different typographic personalities.

02 — Refinement & Iteration

After reviewing the initial concepts with my supervisor, I continued developing the shield-based direction. Using Linearity Curve, I explored variations in shield geometry, seal proportions, and wave placement.

03 — Positive & Negative Space

I tested contrasting treatments of the seal illustration, comparing dark and reversed versions of the emblem. This helped me evaluate visual balance and readability across different applications.

04 — Final Visual Identity

The final presented direction combines a recognizable seal illustration, a protective shield silhouette, and flowing wave shapes.

I paired the emblem with Sora Bold and a blue color palette, exploring how the identity could appear on both light and dark backgrounds.

Outcome & Reflection

I developed four initial logo concepts, explored three typography options, and refined one primary direction through multiple rounds of design iteration.

This project strengthened my ability to translate brand values into visual elements, work with vector graphics, and incorporate stakeholder feedback into my process. I learned to balance creative expression with clarity, consistency, and practical brand requirements.
